Supreme Court ordered CBI investigation in the matter of rape and murder of Dalit Girl

Date : 09/09/2013

Supreme Court ordered CBI investigation in the matter of rape and murder of Dalit School girl in the district of Jind, Haryana. The Honarable Bench compromising Hon’ble Justice Deepak Mishra and Hon’ble Justice P C Pant ordered CBI invistigation in a matter where closure report has been filed by the Police. There were enough evidences, withnesses, Medical & Post Marteem Reports that confirm rape and murder as per the petitioner, while ignoring the same and under the influance of some resourceful person behind the sceen Police filed the Closure Report.

Senior Human Rights lawyer Colin Gonsalves argued the matter and apprise the Hon’ble court about the loopholes in the investigation done by the Haryana Police.

This is a case of the rape and murder of Ms. X, aged 20 years which took place on 24.8.13 and which shocked the conscience of the people of Haryana. The investigation is being done by the Haryana Police in such a negligent manner that it is clear that the police are shielding some important persons. As a result of the criminal negligent and deliberate inaction on the part of the police and despite important evidence turning up pointing towards murder and rape, even one year after the murder all that the police can do is to come up with the theory of suicide. Hence this petition seeking that the investigation be transferred to the CBI for further investigation.
